AZABACHE
PIGMENTARIUM x ARTURO OBEGERO
COLLABORATION
Parfum
A slight whiff of coolness from the incense-soaked interior of a church mingles with the salty scent of the endless ocean and the hot air pervading the rose gardens. Spanish pronunciation of the obsidian stone. AZABACHE fragrance is a result of a year-long creative collaboration with Paris-based Spanish fashion designer Arturo Obegero. A limited collection of only 300 pieces, the perfume symbolized the blend of opposites, just like when love blends with passion.
The fragrance opens with pink pepper and verbena. Sparkling and fleeting like the first whiff of excitement. Three of the rarest roses - the Rose de Mai, the Turkish rose, and the Rose Otto, stand in the spotlight. Their chord jointly dominates the whole composition. It is unexpectedly velvety and captivating. Intense and animal notes of civet, musk, and vetiver hide in the base. Their opposites are woody cedar and mystical olibanum.
At first glance, the distinct, deep black perfume bottle symbolizes the depth of the night, intimacy, and the spirituality of the inner world. The glass is covered with a layer of black paint applied with simple brush strokes in Arturo Obegero ́s hand. Each bottle is decorated with text in 24k gold, which makes it a one-of-a-kind original.
